Another One From Fell Runner
A few months back, I was delightfully introduced to the warm indie rock of LA’s Fell Runner. They’ve put out another single from their upcoming album, Talking, which will be out quite soon. “Same Way” has that similar sort of funky sound that we heard on “Come Home,” but this number has a building energy from the start. Choppy light noises welcome you to the track before the warm vocals cover over everything in a Future Islands-ish croon. The track builds up before it breaks at a chorus, but it’s not a typical soaring indie rock chorus, instead it’s a tempered release before back to the galloping verses. A solid single, making me even more excited for Talking, which you can pre-order here — it’s out today!
Fell Runner are a four piece out of LA, who caught my attention with this new single from their upcoming LP,Talking, which is due out in June. The group has this jazzy indie rock aesthetic, with hints of the quirk of early Dirty Projectors. “Come Home,” rollicks around from the start, with its smart guitar riffs juxtaposed with the gentle lead vocals and warming “oohs” underneath. Ultimately, it’s an utterly wholesome track about missing someone that will warm your soul lyrically as well as sonically.
