Merry Christmas Share the Flying Trombone Sisters
If you haven’t heard of Tokyo’s Merry Christmas, might I suggest visiting their recent album The Night the Night Fell. They follow up that release with a new version of an old track, “The Flying Trombone Sisters.” I’ll be honest, this tune brings back all the old memories, listening to bands like Beulah and Architecture and Helsinki where they incorporate horns and frantic energy into the Elephant 6 sound popularized by Neutral Milk Hotel; it kind of sounds like a bastarized version of Arcade Fire, which only makes them all the cooler in my book.
