School In The Middle Of Summer!

theschoolWell, lucky for you, not exactly. More like Cardiff pop band The School have released a killer single (for free!) from their upcoming record Wasting Away and Wondering that’s due out September 4th from Elefant Records. Now, a few months back I shared with you another great single from these folks and here we see the continuation of the perfect indie pop retro sound from the group, including a nice little string breakdown near the end of the track and horns throughout. “Do I Love You?” has got that sunny Camera Obscura meets She & Him and the music video is a perfect demonstration of what I wish I looked like dancing around my bedroom to this sunny pop song.

560705_10150711888445875_1591671869_nCardiff’s The School are back with a new single and it is delightful! “All I Want From You Is Everything,” the track below, has this old-timey girl-band style, modernized with a lovely jangly guitar parts to it as well as a chorus that will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day as soon as you hear it’s infectious hook. I’m loving this track, so I’m excited to hear that the band will be releasing a new album in the near future, even if that’s the only real details we know about is thus far. The School will be releasing this song as well as a few other tracks on limited edition white vinyl on April 13th, so be sure to scoot your boot on over to order that while you can.

Sometimes musical simplicity is just what the doctor ordered when it comes to falling in love with a certain track or group.  Welsh group,The School, pretty much have always operated in that realm, adding little twists and turns to the formula of indie-pop meets Northern Soul. Their last LP, Loveless Unbeliever, was quite a gem, and now they’ve got a new single on the way for everyone, titled “Never Thought I’d See the Day,” which you can get from Elefant Records tonight. It’s straight pop with female vocals, but you certainly won’t let this one get out of your head today. Here’s a video too of the lead track on the single: VIDEO.

New Tunes from The School

Cardiff, Wales group The School will definitely have people dropping all sorts of names for comparisons to their pop sound, but I doubt many will hit it right on the head.  I’ve already heard the Camera Obscura reference, and while they have a girl singer, I’m not sold on the idea.  Still, having loads of reference points will definitely garner interest abroad, which is what the band have surely accomplished.  This track comes from their album Loveless Unbeliever, which hits stores April 19th.  This is one of the few songs that doesn’t sound entirely like a 60s girl group, so I chose this one up to offer you a preview to the band. You dig?
