Another Track from Traams

traamsIt’s looking like things for Traams are coming together quite nicely; everyone is trying their best to catch the band’s attention and give them a few kind words. Why would we be any different? Modern Dancing is the title of the band’s new effort , and this single has this propulsive groove coming from the rhythm section that I hope is prevalent throughout. It’s a pretty intoxicating track with that rhythm, but don’t think that the band’s knack for incorporating understated guitar noise will be absent…just listen right at the 2.30 minute mark. This is definitely one of my highlight tracks from the record, so spin it a few times to see if you feel the same. It’s out via Fatcat on November 13th.

Kinda Sorta Missed This TRAAMS Tune

traamsOk, so the track’s already been out for a few days, but you know how it goes in the blogosphere (does that world still exist?).  So, this TRAAMS tune hit a few days ago, and it’s sort of blown up immediately.  It’s got this driving rhythm from the get-go, recalling the work of Hot Snakes (or the other band that guy was in).  It hits hard and fast, though there are some guitar cuts that barely border on pop sensibility (listen closely).  Still, the middle of the track is fairly rewarding too, using a slightly slower pace to offer some differentiation. Fatcat Records will be releasing the band’s new album, Modern Dancing, this coming November.

Another Tune from Traams

919107_582153298485281_1428211538_oOne of the things I definitely appreciate, yet often forget, is that I’m subscribed to so many different sites and what not, that I often get songs sent to me without asking.  Other than free tunes, why would I like this? It reminds me that I occasionally, only occasionally (!), forget about tunes I really dig. So, I bring you back to Traams. The group recently released Grin via FatCat Records, and I think you should get your rock on with these dudes today…then you can go pick up your copy.  It’s a pretty simple rock tune, and I mean that in a good way, as I like my jams straight forward.  If they’re not on your radar by now, they should be!

More New Music From TRAAMS

919107_582153298485281_1428211538_oHaving already released their Ladders EP earlier this year, we’re happy to hear that TRAAMS are back and prepping for the release of their debut LP Grins on September 24th via Fat Cat Records.  Prior to that date, the band have graciously offered up this new track “Flowers” for all of us to enjoy.  It’s certainly a post-punk number with some great barking vocals throughout that are sure to draw you in.  Enjoy.

Proto Punk from TRAAMS

919107_582153298485281_1428211538_oBands have a hard time making it all the way overseas, but I’ll gladly share with you this recent tune from TRAAMS.  The Chichester group drops in influences from bands like Mclusky, with pummeling drum lines and jagged guitar licks.  The vocals are a little bit muddy, but they step in line with the guitars and drums, adding an extra bit of force to the energetic number.  The group has just unleashed their Ladders EP via Fat Cat Records, and it’s chock-full of songs that are going to get you out of your chair.  Happy Tuesday folks.
