Show Preview: Sebadoh @ Emos (2/19)

Date Saturday, Feb 19th
Location Emos
Doors 900p
Tickets $15 from Ticketweb

You want a chance to get a little bit of a history lesson to go along with your good rock tunes? Well, then you definitely need to show up at Emos this Saturday night, especially since Lou Barlow will be playing with his band Sebadoh!  You might recognize Lou from a little known act, Dinosaur Jr., but he’s done a great bit of solo work, not to mention his work with Sebadoh.  Then, throw the always entertaining Quasi, and you’ve got a pretty solid show that no one seems to be talking about.  And to top it all off, you get to see local opener TV Torso, who continue to write great songs to go along with their strong live sets.  Seems like you know the place to be this Saturday.

Anyone looking for a solid lineup of bands on Wednesday night should head over to La Zona Rosa for a headlining set by Tokyo Police Club with Someone Still Loves you Boris Yeltsin providing support.  Making the night even better, opening for both bands is Austin’s very own TV Torso.  Not bad, not bad at all.

One of Austin’s hottest up and coming bands TV Torso have a show planned for the inside stage at Emo’s on Wednesday night.  Fellow locals International Waters will be in on the fun as well.  I’d recommend catching this band in this intimate setting before they blow up.  Latest new music from TV Torso “Slanderers’ Stew” can be found below.

New Music from TV Torso

Everyone in Austin knows the name TV Torso by now, right? Well, it’s made up of some of the kids from Sound Team, and a few new friends, namely James Rhea. The guys have been working really hard, and we’re happy to announce that they’ll be releasing their Status Quo Vadis EP on August 31st, followed by a nice jaunt across the states.  You can pre-order the entire EP, as well as stream it in it’s entirety over at the group’s BANDCAMP page.  You’ll also get to hang with the guys in person when they rock the stage at Emos on August 18th. Get on board folks, this is going to be one hell of a ride.
