Photay Shares Global Wind Trade

Mornings are all about setting you up for your day, and for me, the new Photay tune does the perfect job of setting you up, then rolling out from under your feet. It’s like breakfast, where you get a little sample, you ride it out, then you bound at the door with a new sense of energy that’s meant to carry you through the day. The shifts that you’re presented with are definitely subtle, often emphasized by a punch up in the beat or a kind of kick that sets a new twist in motion. Every step of the way, there’s a bit of encouragement, pronounced volume, snappier drum sample, etc, and all of it helps the storytelling without ever whispering a word. Look for Windswept, the new LP, this Friday.

There’s nothing like getting yourself caught up in the week, so before you dive into Wednesday, let Photay mesmerize you with this spiritual bit of electronica…along with its accompanying visual adventure. While some of the beat-work recalls the drum n’ bass constructs, there’s this open nature to the tune’s evolution, kind of building it into this electronic score for some scientific documentary piece. Some robotic vocal moments spring up in the track’s latter half, just like a bud sprouting from the cracked Earth. This tune appears on Windswept, which drops on September 20th.

Wednesdays, am I right? Well, I’m trying to settle back into a routine after a little vacation, and with that, this Photay is a steady little electronic tune that lets you sit back as the synthetic waters nip at your toes. For the first two minutes, the beat’s fairly understated, and the vibe careful, but crossing that mark and you get a bit more of a bump in the song’s latter half, shining a little light into your day. It’s a subtle tune of relaxed craft, so wanted to be sure you had your feet under you as you settled into the midweek. This single features on the new LP, Windswept, out in September!
