Last Week’s Jams (7.15 – 7.19)

For some reason, this past week felt a little slow in terms of new music coming our way, and while I say that, we still cranked out over 20 tracks for you to peruse below. I was super excited for the new track from Low’s Alan Sparhawk, the first music we’ve heard from him since the passing of his Mimi; it was a beautiful piece that shows Alan off on a grand adventure. The Reds, Pinks and Purples snuck in some special new singles, so we’re grateful Glenn got those out into the world. I was stoked on new stuff from Austin’s Marry Cherry, not to mention a new Wut tune that came our way. Kicked off this playlist with my favorite tune, Teenage Tom Petties bringing in the hooks with “Night Nurse.” So, press play and see what you missed out on last week!

Check Out This New One From Wings of Desire

Apologies for my long absence and extended vacation as I stumble my way back into existence and posting some new tunes. Lots of new tracks came our way this morning, but this one called “Forgive and Forget (Reprise)” from UK based Wings of Desire hit me the hardest. Though I just returned from a long road trip, this tune makes me want to hit the open road again with a driving force and slight hints of Americana. Top track of the week for me.

Wings of Desire plan to release this as part of a new EP entitled Shut Up & Listen which is due out on August 30th. Pre-orders are live now.

Last Week’s Jams, Today (10.3 – 10.7)

Lots of coverage running around last week, and with ACL in town, there was some coverage of shows and what not. We ended the week throwing up some streams of our favorite LPs that dropped too. But, ultimately, you came here for the tunes, and we had lots of them. Personally, I loved new stuff from I Was a King, Heather Trost and Field School, not to mention the little twist in expectations thrown in by the latest from Smashing Times. RayRay loved some rockers from S.C.A.B and Fluung, and they’ve all been conveniently added for your listening pleasure below. Browse, and head back and see what we had to say if you’re so inclined.

Wings of Deseire Share Choose A Life

As I was going back over the last week or so of hits, one tune that I kept coming back to was the latest single from Wings of Desire. The UK duo are crafting this sort of propulsive pop collage that billows with hooks while still feeling insanely noisy. There’s a little melodic center to chew on, but for me, the punching nature of the track just had me begging to turn the speakers up so as to rattle the photos on the wall. Feels a bit nostalgic in its creation, but everything from the video to the production makes it feel supremely fresh. Give it a go, will you.
