Cowgirl Announce Cut Offs + Share Fading Lights

The ever reliable folks over at Safe Suburban Home have just announced that they’ll have another record worthy of your listening, this time from York’s Cowgirl, who’ve been mostly quiet since their self-titled LP in 2021. Today they announce Cut Offs, their new LP, dropping an accompanying single that illustrates their confidence in classic rock n’ roll styles. You get the echo of a guitar running throughout, building up the backdrop, though the band pushes forward with driving rhythm and overlapping melodies that build on the foundational level of pop rock. A straight up, no bullshit, honest rock n’ roll tune; you’ll be able to get Cut Offs on August 9th.

Cowgirl Share Something I Needed to Do

The last few years have seen a bunch of one-off singles from York’s Cowgirl, and the band are finally ready for their debut LP, coming your way in the near future via Safe Suburban Home Records. If you ask me, and perhaps this is sacrilege, but just imagine you were a big fan of Wilco, but then you think they needed something with more punch and panache…that might be a good way to describe what’s happening here. There’s steady ballad writing, with nice melodic moments lurking throughout the track. Then you land upon the chorus and the riffs get fuzzy and things start to rule!

Catchy Tune From Bull

In our never ending quest for high quality pop music to share with the world, it’s a sheer pleasure when we come across songs like “Love Goo”. The track comes by way of York based artist Bull, who have actually toured quite extensively, and even stopped in Austin for SXSW a couple of years ago. After first hearing this song, I was immediately drawn to its simplicity and sheer pop goodness. Seriously, how catchy is this song? I will warn you now, repeat plays will surely have this one stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
