Austin Spotlight: The Whalers Ready New LP
I’m really excited by the leaps and bounds that The Whalers have made in the past couple of years, and I think their latest single really demonstrates the growth, providing us with one of their best tunes to date. The band does a great job blending mild bits of Americana with modern indie rock flare, adding both energy and their own unique touches. Their new record will be available to the masses come this October, and as expected, it’s shaping up to be one hell of a listen. And if you’re local, the group plays with our boys Tiger Waves on July 6th over at the Belmont.
