Stuck on Mail the Horse

It’s interesting how musical tastes go in and out of our consciousness. Sometimes I delve into straight punk rock and don’t come out for days…then I fall into indiepop magic.  But, I always have a spot for the folk-leaning tunes, like this new one from Mail the Horse.  This might sound strange, but it truly sounds like Julian Casablancas got together with a bunch of his friends and made a stomping Western album.  There’s that grinding organ sound, and the guitar that filters through the hills of endless desert landscapes.  The group is preparing for the release for their album Planet Gates, which hits on June 23rd.
