As of late I’ve been digging really deep into the Internet to try and find tunes that aren’t just a run of the mill, which is where I stumbled upon Allegra Weingarten. She’s a songwriter from Louisiana crafting these delicate pop songs that inevitably find their way into your soul. Just last week she released her Psycho Size EP, a collection of six pop gems that are as good, if not better, than any of the other bedroom pop stylings people are raving about at the moment. Plus, if you love this, you can rest assured that the abundance of songs on her bandcamp will bring you joy. Something new and something great…so stream it.

Chicago’s Panda Riot have a pretty heavy sound, but while the song’s construction seems filled to the brim, the pristine vocals knife their way, giving off a softened vibe that gives the song a shimmering quality. At times the electronics pulse and throb, highlighting the internal hooks; they also hit hard in unison with the ringing of the guitars, creating a wall of magic noise. The video, which was shot by Jeffrey Nesker seemingly rides the same vibe of the song, but instead of the heady electronics versus pop, you’ve got images of day versus night…a fitting touch that doesn’t go unnoticed. The group will release their new album Infinity Maps on February 14th, just in time for you to share it with your loved one.

Lionlimb Share New Video

Lionlimb have a new album coming out soon and from this upcoming release, they’ve shared a new video for the track, “Clover.” The track is subtle at first listen, but upon further visits, you begin to get a real grasp of its complexity. At the helm is Stewart Bronaugh, with his Elliott Smith-esque vocals. Accompanying him on the song are a delicate arrangement of strings and bouncing piano, acoustic guitar and bass, along with drums that weave the whole piece together. You pick up on different aspects with each listen, the track not lingering in one place for too long; constantly pushing into new territory. The video shows the band trying their hand at shooting with a newly purchased 16mm camera. Premiere: RG Lowe Drops New Single + Release Show (2/2)

Last year RG Lowe stepped out of the limelight of Balmorhea to begin crafting an R&B influenced album, Slow Time, which was met with rave reviews. He’s already back with a brand new single for Western Vinyl, and you can stream the A-side of the release below. You’ll marvel at the power of his voice, and delight in the little guitar lines moving just beneath the front of the mix. To celebrate the release of the single, RG Lowe will be playing a ridiculously stacked bill over at Sahara Lounge. His labelmate Caroline Says will be playing, along with perennial ATH favorites Taft and Batty Jr. Plus, it’s an early show, so you can roll right over after that work happy hour; Doors open at 7:30, with music kicking off at 8.
