Felt like this week is all about finding the sparkle in those colder climes, and this brand new Shopfires track is the perfect little warm treat. The group’s newest single reminds me a lot of the latest Mary Onettes record, coiling itself around a dream pop stature while still allowing the shimmer of the guitars to tether the sound to a pop feel. There’s this little guitar interlude around the 2:18 mark that just crushed my soul in the best possible way, perfectly connecting to the softened melody of the vocals that runs through the song’s first half.
