Hopefully you’ve already got The Same Sky on your radar, as I think it’ll make it easier for you to understand where they’re coming from with the lead track on their Haunting in the Mountains. While the title hints at a certain infamous genre, the only thing that really seems similar is the overlapping guitar work, perhaps notable in acts like American Football or even some of Braid’s more careful workings. The rest of the tune is an opening glimmer at the whole of the LP, using these jagged guitar lines and off-kilter stylings to keep pop fans interested.
