ATX Video Spotlight: Flesh Lights, Zoltars and AJ Vincent
We try to steer somewhat clear of videos…takes up a lot of space…blah blah blah. But, in the last few weeks, there have been some really great videos from some of our favorite local acts…and seeing as we’re in a SXSW lull, we figured today would be a great day to share some of these. If you’re into videos, or great songs, you know what to do.
Flesh Lights – Free Yourself
Last year Austin’s Flesh Lights released one of my favorite albums, Free Yourself. Now the band has a great video for the album’s title track. It shows a little bit of Austin, not to mention the band’s sense of humor. Pick up the album at 12XU.
The Zoltars – 16, 17, 18
The Zoltars just recently released their excellent s/t album (their third). I love how the imagery in this video fits perfectly in with the vibe of the song.
AJ Vincent – Come Over My Friend
AJ Vincent used to play with Bright Light Social Hour, but he’s stepped out on his own for the release of Thief of Fire. Here’s a video of the album’s first single.
