Levitation Interviews: La Femme
Levitation kicks off next week, and one of the acts we’re really excited to see again is French outfit, La Femme. They’ve got a brand new record titled Teatro Lucido coming our way in November, and it takes a little bit of a departure from their previous album, using vocals all in Spanish this round. It also has a bit more of a pop sound, which is one of the ways Levitation has continued to grow their brand since the early days as Psych Fest. So, we reached out to band and asked a few fun questions to see what was coming our way from the group on their trip to the States.

We’re keeping up our preliminary SXSW coverage, hoping to get as many names out there, and as much info out there for artists as we can. Today we’ve got our little interview answers from Paul Jacobs, the Canadian songwriter. Read up on his answers, then pencil him in as an artist you’d like to see when you hit up SXSW. You can check out his latest album, Pink Dogs on the Green Grass after the questions!
Honestly, I’m pretty over lists at this point. They’re arbitrary and don’t really reflect anything but someone’s tastes, except here where they reflect the tastes of three individuals…because that’s how we roll. So, take this list with a grain of salt. These are the records we thought were the best, which mostly just means these are the ones we listened to on repeat throughout the year! Feel free to leave a comment on what you think we missed, or why we’re dumb; we love good comment trolls.
After over 2 years of being a home body and living with anxiety, mixed with a dash of unease, it was an overwhelmingly cathartic experience to get out of the house to see live music again. Seeing old faces, visiting old haunts, and of course being treated to an incredible live set by one of the best live bands around,
We are a little bit clear of ACL 2021’s two weekends. We dealt with the mental gymnastics required to attend both weekends during a pandemic. Proof of a negative test or full vaccination likely meant that Zilker Park was the safest place in Austin. But then again, a lot of people are liars.

Thanks for having us ATH. Its a real honour to be allowed to take over the hall for a day! Our home – in rural Kent, England – is a long way from Texas, and we haven’t left it very often for the past few months, so its exciting to go on a long journey and hang out with you in Austin.
It’s been a crazy year, and a depressing year, so perhaps we all retreated more into our record collections to seek out that fleeting joy. On my end, I spent a lot of time running/walking in the ‘burbs, so these are the records that played the most in my life…thus they are my Favorite Albums of 2020. The validity means little to anyone other than myself, but since you stop by, perhaps come by and check out my list!
