More From Tummyache
Earlier this month I was turned onto the Amarillo product Soren Bryce and her new project under the moniker tummyache. While the previous output was a slow burning type of song, this one hits much harder and gives us much more of a rockin’ vibe. It has a very . grunge inspired sound and comes across as an updated and cleaner version of alternative bands like Garbage. Clearly it seems that the new EP coming later this year on Poor Man Records will feature sounds from a wide variety of landscapes. Dig.

We’ve seen some tunes over the last year or so popping up from
After releasing a wonderful debut, Swedish outfit Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes are on the minds of tons who dabbled in dream pop/shoegaze. Well, it sounds like they might have an album right around the corner, as they’ve just dropped this new single on us out of nowhere. Siri Sjoberg seems to have the perfect voice for the band’s sound, able to rise above the noise and shatter it with her heavenly tones, while also careful to slink back behind the wall of atmospherics when necessary. For those of you who love pop music, but also want it to slightly shimmer in distortion will surely find you adore this band’s work.
Having already introduced you to one of the catchy tracks from
Gothic Tropic is an LA indie pop outfit featuring Cecilia Victoria at the helm. She’s been working on an album for the past year, and this track is the first single from that upcoming record. What strikes me the most about this track is the disco beat that kicks things off and then stays with you through the whole tune. “Drunk On a Rhythm” is the kind of tune you put on and dance away to in your house with abandon. Groovy bass lines, bouncy piano, magnetic electric guitar riffs, and silky smooth vocals take up the majority of the soundscape. As the track progresses, you’re met with a catchy chorus and little nuances that keep things exciting, like jazzy saxophone. Take a listen below and look out for more from
