Antone’s is a beat off the beaten path for an indie music fan. With White Lies and Asobi Seksu coming to town, it seemed a strange venue to play host the popular Brit-pop/Indie bands. But host they did and the fans were happy to fill the space. It was a young crowd, all ages for sure. New fans for AsobiSeksu were earned. White Lies cemented fans’ loyalty. Jump it.

White Lies are a British group who’ve grown up over the last several years, bringing their release of Ritual to the forefront of media all over the globe. While they tend to get a little bit of association with bands like Joy Division, they really have more of a Killers feel, as it’s definitely not as dark as Curtis and crew. You’ll want to get there early too, as Asobi Seksu are a band on the rise. This year they released Fluorescence, and we’ve enjoyed our time with that album; we look forward to their opening slot at one of Austin’s most historic little venues. See you guys there!

Jamie Lidell is one of those musicians you can’t ever really pinpoint. It seems that his influences and his productions are going all over the place, but you rarely hear people say a bad thing about any of it. He’s touring in support of his latest record Compass, which features loads of guest stars that we know you adore. Sure, they won’t all be at Antones on Friday night, but we know one killer act that will be, and that’s Twin Shadow. This guy has been exploding all over the place for quite some time, and you will want to catch his show before he’s too big for his own britches. Here’s a track to get you stoked.

Apparently the hottest ticket in town belonged to The Tallest Man on Earth, which is both surprising and deserved. Of course the quiet atmosphere was surely ruined by the constant chatter that is ever present at Antones, but it didn’t stop the beautiful music offered from TME and the opening band S. Carey. Immediately after he gave us a new EP to enjoy, Tallest Man On Earth is stopping at Antones in Austin Saturday night. Armed with only his guitar, the show will be an intimate one and something I’m sure you won’t want to miss out on. Opening support for the night is provided by S. Carey.

Riding high upon the praise of Gorilla Manor, the band was intent upon showing everyone in Austin precisely why they deserve all the hype. After a poor booking job landed Local Natives inside Emos, the show was moved to Antones, where even still, the show sold out. Luckily, we all got a chance to see one of our favorites, Suckers, open up the show. Follow the jump for the full story.

Yo la Tengo are returning to Austin at Antone’s on Friday night. The veteran 3 piece outfit will be joined by the hyped up blogosphere band Times New Viking. Should be one helluva night.

The super duo of Death Cab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard and Son Volt leading man Jay Farrar are stopping into town at Antone’s on Wednesday. The recently formed group are touring in support of their Big Sur inspired colaborative project. One of our favorite songwriters Will Johnson will also be on hand to open things up.
