Disarme Share Change Single

Our friends over at Geographie Records have a pretty good track record when it comes to what’s hip over in France, and they’ve sent us the debut single from Disarme, with this shadowy video to immerse you into the confines of what’s coming our way. There was something about the guitar sound and the hushed vocal work that reminded me of an early Sharon van Etten, though you’ll hear a subtle vocal change about midway through the tune, encouraging you to take any meaningless comparison with a grain of salt. With that little plot twist comes a lighter guitar, turning a faint little note into charm, to completely slow it down as the music moves to a softened close.

Enumclaw Sign with Run For Cover Records

There’s just something about the songs Aramis Johnson writes for Enumclaw that have the perfect balance between emotional indie rock and punchy rock. Their latest single, accompanying the announcement of a new album and their singing to RFC, encompasses that tightrope act, walking between these thoughtful moments that would fit on any modern playlist, all before bursting into these riff-oriented crashing waves; it forces you to find your footing emotionally, while also indicating the joyous nature that coincides with Johnson’s songwriting. Home in Another Life will drop on August 30th.

Chilled Out Bedroom Pop From Supine

Supine is the solo project of Patrick Murphy from Birmingham, UK, who also releases music with the likes of his band Violet. With Supine, he is making chilled out bedroom pop that just hits you like a ray of warm sunshine. “Change” is a buttery smooth track, with super gooey guitar riffs that melt into each other, the lovely nuances of horns towards the end, and bright bursts of synths. This track is taken from the band’s new EP, which is out today. Go over to their Bandcamp and listen to the whole thing.
