More Stunning Folk From Ashley Shadow

Vancouver’s Ashley Shadow is making waves with her subtle folk style and unique vocals– Nathan shared this track from her about a month ago, and she’s on the brink of releasing her self-titled debut album in a little over a week. Yesterday, she gave us yet another single, “In Shadows,” which is a slower and deeply moving song. It’s a simple track, with few instruments to clutter the soundscape, and letting the vocals take over. With all these stunning singles, it’s safe to say I’m stoked for the debut release, which will be out April 15th via Felte. Pre-order it here.

Been Playing This Ashley Shadow Track a Ton

Don’t know what it is about this brand new song from Ashley Shadow, but I’ve really taken to her latest single. There’s something special in her voice, something that really drew me in; I love the slight changes in pitch and tone that come when switching between chorus and verse. Musical accompaniment is fairly simple, but it does its job to really supply her voice with the perfect base from which she excel in her own performance. She’ll be releasing her self-titled debut album on April 15th via Felte.

I’ve been looking for some way to describe this new tune “Honey Resist” from Brooklyn based The Tower of Light, but I am coming up majorly short. Some may place it in the shoe gaze genre, and I’d be cool with that I guess? I’m hearing something more than that hear with the mesmerizing atmospheric feel to the song. And damn, those vocals put me in a trance.

Here’s an enticing new jam called “Together” coming your way from Italian based band Soviet Soviet. I really dig the washed out almost post-punk type of feel driving through the song while we’re mesmerized by the lead vocals. It’s pretty tasty.
