Who Is She Share 96 Ghouls

Who Is She is going to be on everyone’s playlist this week I reckon, as the band’s a supergroup made up of members of Chastity Belt, Lisa Prank and Tacocat, leaving us with the impression that there’s no way you can’t like this! You immediately get this bob and weave from the bass line as you press play, flirting with that sort of frantic post-punk as the guitars knife their way into the picture. Two vocal pieces impact your listening, with a sedate vocal in the front of the mix, while you get an emphatic group chant jumping in to punch up the style. I’ve only heard one track, and I know I’ll be grabbing their Goddess Energy LP; it drops on August 25th via Father Daughter Records.

Top 25 Albums of 2019

This is the list you’ve all been waiting for, well, sort of. This is my Top 20 LPs of the year. Admittedly, there’s none of the high profile hitmakers on here, but that’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy those albums. I loved Purple Mountains just as much as the next person, same with Weyes Blood, but in a pickle, would I choose it over that Martha LP? Uh, absolutely not. Plus, I ran a lot this year because I got tired of being fat, so the majority of this stuff is pretty upbeat and “runnable.” There’s no order because all are equal under my ears.

Top 20 LPs of 2019…According to Lost Sound Tapes

He’s done an incredible job of curating, and I almost always find myself in love with a handful of his releases each year, like Olivia’s World and Lisa Prank this year! So, I reached out and asked him to pop off with some of his favorite releases…and here we are. Enjoy!

Rock With Lisa Prank

d999a579-5704-4d2f-999e-6c43b272beffI know Nathan has been going crazy with some song posts over the last few days, but this guy needed a little break from it all for a spell. Today I’m ready to jump back into things with this great new track from Seattle based Lisa Prank. The new song, “Starting Again”, falls in to the lo-fi garage rock genre with complimentary pop elements to keep things catchy and light. Hope you enjoy this new one as much as I do.

Adult Teen will drop on June 24th via Father/Daughter Records.
