Last Week’s Jams (7.8 – 7.12)

After a brief vacation, I apparently over-indulged while RayRay was out on the town, hitting up nearly 30+ songs, and some of those, like the premiere we ran for legendary Refrigerator, aren’t even on streaming platforms, so you have to go find em’ on the site! Austin had a big week, with acts like Club Coma, Liz Burrito, Voxtrot, Font and Letting Up Despite Great Faults throwing out some new jams. But, don’t think San Francisco/Oakland were game for being overshadowed, with Tony Jay, Sad Eyed Beatniks, Chime School, Fake Fruit and Parallel all dropping new jams. So, this is nearly 2 hours of really really great music, so sit back, press play, and escape the madness, albeit for a brief moment.

Friday Album Releases: Sad Eyed Beatniks, Font and More

It’s not one of those overwhelmingly crazy Fridays where I feel like I could spend a million dollars buying records, but there’s definitely some notable releases I wanted to remind you of today, several of which we’ve been repping over the last several months, like our ATH faves, Font. No need to get poetic, as your job is to jam out and find what you love, then go support the artists…so without further adieu.

Loving This New Macseal Track

Well well well, what do we have here? A band with a throw back, sort of post-emo sound? RayRay is of course going to be all over that. Bringing us that sweet throw back sound today is Long Island based group Masceal with their latest single “Sure Thing, Shelly”. I am immediately taken back to the glory days of music with bands like American Football or even The Promise Ring. This is a truly great song.

Masceal will release new EP Map it Out on November 9th via 6131 Records.
