Feeling Figures Announce Migration Music

Unsurprisingly, it sounds like K Records have another stellar release on their hands, this time with a new LP coming from Feeling Figures. For fans of the label, this new single feels precisely what I imagine it was like growing into a young adult with K’s catalog on your tape player. There’s almost this natural indifference to the churn of the guitars, riding the wind on the back of beat, waiting for the vocals to soar into picture. Nothing seems overdone or exaggerated for musical effect, tightly wound up around this simplistic DIY ethos. Plus, there’s plenty of open space here too, allowing the musicianship to frolic about in enchanting fashion. Old school vibes with new school flair; Migration Music is out November 15th!

La Securite Share Hot Topic Video

Contrary to popular thought, the latest track from Montreal’s La Securite is not actually about your revered mall outlet. Instead, it’s a proper piece meant to score the incredible dance routine that has been edited down to feature in this film version. From the moment you’re pressing play, the dancers and the song are pulsing, claiming the space as their very own, both physical and musical. Eliane snakes around ringing guitar notes and synthetic stabs, delivering a sharp indifference to the world around the dancers and the singer. Pulsating punk elements mixed with dancefloor ready grooves make Stay Safe something to keep on your radar; it drops tomorrow via Mothland.

Private Lives Prep Hit Record; Share Trust in Me

Those of you that are itching for some great classic punk rock style riffs are going to really enjoy this new track from the forthcoming Private Lives LP. While the attitude and flair come in from those heavy riffs and smashing drum bits, there’s this howling hook coming from Jackie Blenkharn’s vocal portrayal. Her voice snakes around those riffs and drum hits, almost giving the song this natural movement that should definitely rile up listeners when the band takes the stage. This former quarantine project is stepping into the limelight, ready to take pop rock fans by storm when they drop Hit Record, out July 14th from Feel It Records.

La Securite Share Serpent Video

Felt like during the middle of the week we need to switch up our shoes and get a little midweek groove on, and what better way than the subtle hooks of Montreal’s La Securite. Where it would be easy to add the pace and really push folks onto the dancefloor, this bunch pull back, letting the rhythmic pulse guide the listener while the vocals flirt with that dreamy-disco intoxication. Lurking inside is this pseudo-chorus that feels like a riot-girl call to arms, adding in just enough grit to keep those rockist snobs on the hook. Look for Stay Safe on June 16th via Mothland.

Bodywash Share Massif Central Video

You’re not going to want to miss out on this new Bodywash track, particularly if you’re dabbling the darkened corners of the post-punk industrial complex. For starters, the video’s really great, mixing in various components to build this futuristic world that meets up with the musical element. That music is both propulsive and noisy, though it remains wholly tied to the central melody that drives the band’s creation. Guitar notes swirl angularly, until they forced to skitter off into the noisier realms; the vocals lurk somewhere in the song’s shadows, careful not to outshine everything that surrounds them. The duo will release I Held the Shape While I Could on April 14th via Light Organ Records.
