Last Week’s Jams (11.11 – 11.15)

After a fairly slow week, we hit it hard this week, bringing you a nice collection of great tunes, as we’re focused on that side while everyone else is scrambling to wrap up their year end lists. There was a heavy Austin contingent, particularly as we announced we’ll be dropping the new EP from Fantastic Purple Spots; Austin also brought us new stuff from Variety, Burgess Meredith, David Israel, and Being Dead. The Laughing Chimes made us realize that there’s still time left in 2024 for brilliant pop music, while Feeling Figures popped in with a video to remind us how great their last LP was. And, all of it kicks off with a great introduction to Lone Striker. Little bit of this, little bit of that, little bit of Dwight Yoakam.

Peaer Shares Just Because

It’s been a hot second since we last heard from NYC based Peaer. Since the stellar album A Healthy Earth back in 2019, the band has been relatively quiet with sparse live shows and few updates. After the lull, you can imagine one fan boys excitement when news came in this morning of a fresh single called “Just Because” with the promise of some live dates as well. The ATH crew is always down for this new wave of post-emo, intricate instrumentation type of vibes, so you had to know we’d share this one today.

Stay tuned for more from Peaer in 2025. “Just Because” is available below or via all streaming platforms.

New Joint From Peaer

As if Brooklyn didn’t have enough of a quality music scene to rival our own, here’s yet another new tune from the area coming from up and comers Peaer. The new track called “Don’t” features some crunchy guitars in a subtle yet powerful way similar to a band like Dirty Projectors or Pinback. It’s always impressive to find a three piece that can bring just as much energy as a bigger band. Carry on amigos.

Peaer will release new album A Healthy Earth on August 16th via Tiny Engines.
