Painted Palms Give Us a Hit

Painted Palms has given us so many hits over the last couple of years it’s hard to believe the band has even more sweet jams to give. Today comes news of an upcoming album and the release of yet another one of those great songs I was just mentioning. This one is called “Disintegrate” and is surely a song that will make your weekend, or even summer, good times playlist. I’m already dropping it into mine. Carry on.

New album, Horizons, is due out on September 4th via Polyvinyl Records.

White Reaper Kill it Again

Man White Reaper just seem to continually fly a little under the radar despite their stellar rock tunes. We raved about the band last year after the release of a self-titled EP full of punk rock inspired sounds, catchy hooks, and loud guitars. Nathan already shared with you new single “Make Me Wanna Die” back in April, and I’m pleased today to bring you new single “I Don’t Think She Cares”. Let’s put it this way, if your Monday is dragging a little bit, spin this song a few times and all will be right in the world.

Don’t forget that new album White Reaper Does it Again is due out on July 17th via Polyvinyl.

Yea, that’s right, everyone’s favorite Missouri band with a ridiculous name, SSLYBY, is back with a new track and details regarding their next album, The High Country, which is set to come out June 2nd on Polyvinyl Records. They’ve got a new song to share from that upcoming release, “Step Brother City,” whose style embodies that early 2000’s straightforward alternative rock and has just the kind of spunk to it that you need for this Monday. New Jacco Gardner Video

So we’ve already been hitting you fairly steadily with more and more tracks from Jacco Gardner as he preps to release his album Hypnophobia later this year on May 5th via Polyvinyl. Today, I’ve got a new music video from the gentleman for the song “Find Yourself,” which is filled with Gardner’s psychedelic style set to trippy visuals as well as a dramatic storyline. The Dodos Give Us Something New

The Dodos have always been a band beloved by those of us at ATH even if their more recent material has left us longing a bit for the good old days. Today I’m happy to share with you this new track “Competition” that is really a return to old form in my opinion. The song is a simple pop number with those folky overtones that made us fall for this band back in the day. Truly a hit for the winter season.

Incredible New Track From The Rentals

I know that you may have seen this tune elsewhere last week, but when a song is as sweet as this one, I will post it despite my tardiness. To keep this brief, The Rentals have always been a big favorite of mine and I’m super excited that they are returning this year with their much delayed 3rd LP. This track called “Thought of Sound” is a preview of the new album and it’s proving that the wait for new music was well worth it. Seriously, these guys have a distinct sound that is just like no other. YES.

New album, Lost in Aplhaville, is due out August 26th on Polyvinyl Records.

A little over a month ago, we shared a track with you from new Polyvinyl signee White Reaper. Today the boys are at it again with another new and fun pop rock tune called “Cool” found below. The title of the song is appropriately short here as the song is short, sweet, and easily enjoyable even to the most casual of listeners. We’ll be looking forward to June 24th when their new self-titled EP drops on Polyvinyl.

Putin Sucks, Yeltsin FTW

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin just added a lovely new track to Polyvinyl’s Soundcloud and I decided it was share-worthy. I think you will, too.

The track is off of the pending release called Fly By Wire, which is available for pre-order here. The song, called “Nightwater Girlfriend”, features jangly verses giving way to a fuzzy-effected chorus and lovely bridge with the build back to the big break and a soft finish. Best thing I have heard from the band in a couple albums, IMHO.

New Bright Pop From Saturday Looks Good To Me

It seems crazy to me that we’ve never posted about indie pop band Saturday Looks good to me. I remember really getting into them in my college days when they were an up and coming band on the Polyvinyl label. Now the band can be considered veterans in the game and I was really pumped when they sent over this new song “Sunglasses” streaming on soundcloud. It’s definitely an upbeat song that might be a perfect segway into your weekend party times. This tune will be available for physical purchase via 7″ single on November 6th on the Polyvinyl Label.
