Autocamper Share Summertime Single

What great news today, as two of our favorite labels are uniting for a joint release; Slumberland Records and Safe Suburban Home are coming together to release a fresh cassingle from Autocamper this Friday! You can hear the delightful “Summertime” track below, offering up a keyboard-laden bit of wayward pop. You’ll find the snappiness of the drums keeping the pace, pushing the song consistently forward; the vocals have to keep up, but they don’t, choosing to kind of focus on the turn of words and the backing notes to kind of build this swirling bit of melodic madness. Those running keyboard notes and quick drum hits deifnitely build in an infectiousness you won’t escape. The full cassingle is out Friday!

Pardoner Release My Wagon Single

Peace Loving People is scheduled for a June 23rd release, but I’ve already penciled in this new Pardoner for some heavy rotation at the pool parties. Okay, so those parties are in my backyard with my wife and my kids and our inflatable pool, but still! The tune just has this sipping-on-a-beverage chill to it; the kind of cool that makes you run your hands through your hair and soak in the world around. Now, that doesn’t mean it’s all sunshine and rainbows (or cool shades and pots of gold) as there’s definitely some great guitar riffs ripping through your speakers if you’ve got this one at high volume. Get ready for some pool jams, order the new album from Bar None!

Death Valley Girls Give You Retro Garage

unnamedL.A’s Death Valley Girls really have a name that suits their style of music in that they sound like someone zombified some valley girls and then gave them guitars. This track, “Summertime,” has that retro-girl band sound combined with the fuzz and shred of today’s garage rock. The vocals are all kinds of catchy and beg you to scream along with the band through the track. The juxtaposition of the valley girl vocals and the gritty punk quality of the instrumentation give the song some allure that you certainly don’t want to miss out on.

New Tunes from Pale Sunday

Pale+Sunday+pale_sundayIn an effort to become the only member of ATH with a serious twee addiction, I bring you new tunes from the Brazilian group, Pale Sunday.  This is the first new music we’ve gotten from the group since 2005’s Summertime.  The warmth of the vocals in this tune, “Shooting Star,” make it perfect for this chilly winter day.

New Tunes from The Drums

thedrums-domsmith-photo01We’ve been loving The Drums since we got their self-titled debut EP, but now they are gearing up to release a new EP titled Summertime! The EP features three brand new tracks for those of you that had the debut, but if not, there are 6 brand spanking new songs, one being that sweet tune “Let’s Go Surfing.”  But, now we have a new number for you, this one featuring an adorable female vocal with that bouncing bass line the band utilize so well. You can get a hold of the EP at Twenty Seven Records.
