Talos has already had huge success with the release of his latest album,Wild Aleeacross the pond. But, the Irish act are one of the many braving the distance to try win over the hearts of everyone in attendance at SXSW. Read on below for some quick answers, and be sure to check the band out live on March 15th at the Velveeta Room, with many other Irish acts!

ATH: Every Year there is a lot of hubbub concerning corporate sponsors and pay to play and what not at SXSW. As a band, what’s your reason for coming to play at the festival? What do you hope to get out of it?

Talos: We dont really go into festivals or any live show with an agenda. It is something we deeply love doing, and it is an important way for us to share what we love with who will listen. I mainly work and write alone, and the live show is a communal end to that solitary process, so we hope to continue to express that in a more and more energetic and powerful way.

ATH:For most SXSW sets, you get 30 minutes to leave a lasting impression. What’s your plan of attack? You have a set list mapped out yet?

Talos: I think well play the shows as they come… Id like to think that over the week anyone that comes to see us will get a full spectrum of our work and how we play…

ATH:We are partial to SXSW obviously, but what festival do you feel is the best around?

Talos: Its been mainly Irish ones to date. I have a few favourites that we played over the years… another love story, electric picnic, and more recently, sounds from a safe harbor – it will be a household name soon, that one.

ATH:What’s your favorite album to come out in the last year? What’s playing in the tour bus?

Probably Arca – Arca… it is just such a special record … also Nils Frahms recent All Melody is something I havent really stopped listening to since it came out.
