Welcome Strawberry Drop Desperate Flower

The ever-evolving work of Welcome Strawberry is always something that lures me into really deep listens; I don’t think they’ve delivered the same packaged sound once, and for that I’m grateful. If you listen to opening track “Fragrance Net” you will almost instantly notice that there’s this clarity to the beginning of the record, working more in a pop realm with an airy feel, as opposed to some of their earlier buzzsaw guitar moments. That said, you can take songs like “Doings of a Wraith” or “Check Scractchers” and you can see that the underlying sentiment to their songwriting is omnipresent, but they’ve repackaged it, keeping their sound fresh and interesting ere they grow stale.
