It’s a brilliant switch, catching the listener off-guard, and crafting just enough DIY aesthetic to pull the cool kids along into the delightful world of pop music. It makes sense that there’s nods to Liz Phair, as you can hear that sort of crossover magic, where folks from all walks of listening habits will pine over this new single.
