Really, I love Fun Fun Fun Festival. I will readily stand up to the masses and argue about how much better FFF is in comparison to Austin City Limits. But, as with all festivals, there will inevitably be some sort of let down that leaves you frustrated. While I think some of these may be a bit obvious, there are others that definitely need to be brought into the forefront.

So as we said on Tuesday, we had a few photographers running around over the weekend and now we want to bring you some photos from ATH photo man Eric Uhlir. Eric has been lending us his photos for close to a year now and we have always been pleased with his outstanding results. The quality of his framing and attention to detail really is top notch. Over our weekend of Fun Fun Fun, we had lots of fancy photographers running around taking pictures for us to capture the madness that went down. He’s been working hard for us for quite some time now and I think you’ll agree that his work is always pretty impressive. During Fun Fest weekend, we had the chance to sit down and speak with electro beat makers Ratatat. Duo Mike Stroud and Evan Mast were a tad bit on the sleepy side early in the morning, but we still managed to discuss some things we thought you guys would like to know. We move along with our Fun Fest interviews today with the great Dan Bejar and his musical project known as Destroyer. We’ve been following Dan for quite some time with his work in and out of Destroyer so we were excited that we could get some email questions in with him. Follow the jump to read the full interview.
Every once in a long while you hit upon something that triggers your memory, and you open up the door to your past; you revisit old haunts, and most importantly, you revisit old bands. You see, I grew up listening to Nick Drake, as my dad always played it around the house, so I was always a huge fan. His intricate guitar playing and his spectacular voice. Sure, Pink Moon is the most well-known album for this artist, due largely to Volkswagen, but all those who appreciate his music will surely find gems in the rest of his tunes. So young, so tragic, and yet so beyond brilliant. Every one needs a Nick Drake album in their collection. I’d like to thank the superb Pink Moon book from the 33 and 1/3 series for reminding me of Drake and his sublime talents.
When one gets the opportunity to speak to a legendary band such as The Jesus Lizard, one most make the most of that opportunity with some quality questions. Oh and questions about Halloween costumes… Such was the task assigned to us when we had the chance to send 5 questions to veteran bass player and founding The Jesus Lizard member David Sims.
