ACL Preview: Exit Music For A Festival

Shockingly enough, it’s already October, the weather is changing, and it’s time again for another round of Austin City Limits. Imagine that, I’m offering a post with advice for the old folks and I mention the weather! Time to settle in to Overture. Hey, I hear the food is great! But seriously folks, ACL is kicking off on Friday and the lineup yet again has a great deal to offer for fans of all styles of music. For the ever aging ATH crew, we typically look towards middle tier acts like Fidlar, Cherry Glazerr, The Comet is Coming, Otis the Destroyer, and Idles so we can get in early and leave before the crowds grow. For us, headliners usually kick off the end of the night as we head for the exits and home to our warm beds. Many memories have been made dodging water moccasins near the lake as Bob Dylan plays a nearly unrecognizable rendition of “Highway 61 Revisited”. Hit the jump for more!

ACL Fest Shares Day-By-Day Lineup — Single Day Tickets On Sale Now

Austin City Limits Music Festival 2019 will be going down on October 4-6 and 11-13, and though we got the initial lineup announcement, those of you looking to catch just a few acts can rejoice, as they’ve dropped the Day-By-Day Lineup and single day tickets are on sale now. By the looks of it, it may be a pretty split for those looking to catch similar acts. Friday of both weekends seems to be for the bros of rock and roll with Guns N’ Roses, The Raconteurs and Tame Impala. Saturday is for the feels with Childish Gambino, The Cure and Billie Eilish. Sunday looks to round it out with some dancing/general baddassery from Cardi B (Weekend 1), Robyn (Weekend 2) and Lizzo (Weekend 2). Are you going a full weekend or just picking a day? Whichever you pick, choose quickly and scoop those tickets before they sell out!

Fest Preview Friday: Tough Choices at ACL 2018 (Weekend One)

This year, we face one of the most stacked lineups for indie music that we’ve seen in a hot minute from the folks at ACL Festival. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining; I love a good challenge and will happily take a full day of sets then a lot of downtime at Zilker. However, with great lineup comes great responsibility. There are some key choices you’re going to have to make when you set foot at Zilker park come October. Don’t fret, I’m here for you; I’m breaking down some scheduling conflicts for you after the jump. These are only some of the problem areas for me–what are your tough choices for ACL?

Friday Top 5: Fx3 Bands To See

Fun Fun Fun Fest starts today, and not like tonight, it kicked off around noon. You’re already late! Some of us are disappointed that the festival was forced to move away from its stomping grounds at Waterloo Park, and now set up at the large landscape of Auditorium Shores. No matter how dusty or crowded it gets, there are so many great bands performing that will keep you bobbin’ your happy little head. Here are the top 5 acts that I am most stoked about seeing.
