The trial run went well enough that the IT Department is going into production. Version 1.0 will include some have-to listens, our first repeat guest, some darkwave, a new to me artist and *gasp* a remix or two. People that know me know I hate remixes, so you may not gasp, but I know a few out there will.

In our continued support of local music and local festivals, we’d like to drop a bit of knowledge your way about a contest currently going down for Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011 passes and goods. All you have to do is go to Guessthefest.com, use your twitter or facebook account to login, and make 10 guesses at who you think will be playing the festival. Person with the most correct answers will receive one of the following prizes:
1st Place – Air fare for you and a friend plus weekend passes for the both of you. Transmission will also set you up in a sweet hotel for the weekend. Austin residents can choose to fly in some friends or invite 10 friends to Casino el Camino for burgers and beer
2nd Place – You and a friend received P-I-P (Fun Fest’s way to say VIP) to the festival

This thing ends on Monday July 4th so you don’t have much time to take advantage! Get on it. For those not in the know, Fun Fest also just added a 3rd full day for this year’s festival so you’re really getting your money’s worth.
It’s not like we haven’t already been keeping our eyes on Toro y Moi, but after catching his set recently at Fun Fun Fun Fest, we’re stoked to hear the entire Underneath the Pine album, coming your way on February 22. If you can’t get into the groove of the bass line on this single, then you better get to the doctor quick like. Of course, Chaz’s voice adds that extra element of smooth cool to the moving song, all things that will definitely leave you wanting more already. I mean, who wouldn’t want to get down with the opposite sex while grooving to this song. Count us in.

Before our Fun Fest weekend began, we here at ATH had a small panic attack when we realized that some of our favorite photographers wouldn’t be shooting for us at the festival. What is one to do when in such a pickle? Well we sort of lucked out and happened to meet a friend of a friend who works as a videographer/photographer for a living. Imagine the luck! Making this deal even better, our new found photo friend also already had his very own pass for the weekend. Sometimes things just turn out the way they’re supposed to. Most of us have fully recovered from Fun Fest by now and are already looking forward to our year end lists and holiday plans. We here at ATH are also beginning to wrap our Fun Fest posts and wanted to do that by sharing some of our favorite photos from the weekend. So we hope everyone had just a dandy time at Fun Fest this past weekend. ATH of course had a lot of fun jamming out, day drinking, and chilling with our music biz homies from around town. As per usual, we thought we’d recap the weekend in list form via our Top 10 bands from the festival. With so many acts to be seen, this can sometimes be a difficult task. Funx3 Fest is now over and we can all make our collective sad face to show our displeasure towards the situation. It was yet again a great weekend of music and fun was had by all. Prior to the weekend, we had the chance to sit down with Spanish pop band Delorean and talk a bit about their band. We spoke with band member Ekhi Lopetegi about the current state of his band and how they celebrated the Spanish victory this summer. Follow the jump for full interview

The weekend is almost here ladies and gentleman and we here at ATH couldn’t be more excited for Fun Fest than we are right now! Sometimes we’re pretty worn out after a full day of music, but we realize some of you crazy kids party late into the night after the festival days. Those of you looking for after shows, or those of you not attending Fun Fest and just looking for some solid music to check out, can see below for an after party list.
