Stream A Song I Decided I Like

I have always liked Black Moth Super Rainbow, but for only about a minute and thirty seconds. When “Windshield Smasher” was released a few weeks ago, I was pretty ‘meh’.

I listened to a mixtape Tobacco did for SiriusXMU that featured the song and since then, this track keeps finding ways into my earholes to infect my mindgrapes. Guess what, I dig this song now. It starts more percussive, but builds a bit into normal BMSR territories and then gets groovy, rinse, repeat. So yeah, this is my post to share and just say hey *nicejobsport*, I’m a fan.

New album, Cobra Juicy, hits 10/23 just in time for merch booths at their (spoiler alert) FFF Nites show at The Mohawk 11/3 and their FFF set on 11/4. <<<< The internet eats its own. Fun Fun Fun Nites Lineup

So you think you’ll have energy for even more bands after spending your day at the FFF?

The Nites lineup is here and I anticipate the lack of sleep the second and third days of FunX3 will be enough to cause delirium and panic, intentional insomnia. Check bands like Blitzen Trapper, Imperial Teen, A Place to Bury Strangers and King Tuff in native environments, the clubs and bars and venues. Plenty of others will be throwing DJ sets to get your dance party on after spending the day being pinned against the rail on the black stage.

Fun Fun Fun Fest Lineup Is Here!

Sorry for the major delay on getting this information out to you guys as I’m sure you’ve seen this information elsewhere by now.  For those of you that haven’t already heard, the Fun Fun Fun Fest lineup was leaked last night via Bingo tournament.  As you can see via the poster to my left, the lineup once again blows most festivals completely out of the water.  Somehow the festival goers manage to get great reunion bands like Run DMC, The Promise Ring, Braid, Refused, etc. along with up and comers like Real Estate, Surfer Blood, Dum Dum Girls, etc.

Without a doubt, this will be an awesome festival just like it is every year.  You can scope the full lineup on the poster or check it out over on the official website.

Don’t forget that the special PIP passes are still on sale!

Anyone care to offer their sentiments on the lineup?

In other news, PIP passes for the festival are still on sale (regular tickets gone bye bye) and apparently Run DMC is planning to reunite and headline.  Say wha!?

Fun Fest Interviews: Cloud Nothings

Sorry that we’re just now getting this one finished, but it takes us awhile to recover from all the good times at Fun x 3 Fest. This last interview is with one of our favorite bands of 2011, Cloud Nothings. We were fortunate enough to catch up with the band, and ask them a bunch of random questions, as we’re wont to do. Hope it’s informative. And I’m sorry I look so fat on camera.

Follow the jump for video.

Fun Fest Interviews: We Were Promised Jetpacks

Man it seems like Fun Fest was ages ago at this point and we’ve been lagging just a bit behind on our post festival coverage as far as interviews go.  It probably has a lot to do with the complete lack of experience I have with video editing software…  So yes, the cat is out of the bag, ATH decided to do some video interviews over the festival weekend for the very first time and we’re hoping you’ll enjoy this new component of the site.  In the future, we’re hoping to begin incorporating more and more video with our interviews, lost in austin series, and more general videos featuring new music.  We’re like so 2011 now. Without further ado, follow the jump for our Fun Fest VIDEO interview with Sean and Mike from We Were Promised Jetpacks.

Jumpcut to Ted Leo,dial it back to dance party with Architecture in Helsinki, back up again for Hum and then Easing out with Black Lips and Slayer (?).

You know what is past the break.
