We’re in the throes of “SXSW,” and I know, that’s a hard pill for folks to swallow. But, some bands were unable to back out in protest, so we’re here to point you towards one of those acts, Corridor, who recently have signed up with Sub Pop for their new LP, Mimi. Get to know the band below, and if you’re in Austin, they play at the Music for Listeners party today!
If there was one band I could pick on my “SXSW” to see list, it had to be Holiday Ghosts. I’ve adored the work for years, but like most acts, its hard to always get across the blue pond to play in the States, so hopefully we’ll be able to catch them this week! They’ve got a slew of unofficial shows, as they’ve backed out of the official part of the festival. They’re prepping for the release of their new LP, Coat of Arms, which I reckon is going to be chocked full of rad tunes. Check the shows after the jump!
Smut caught my attention way back in 2020 with their Power Fantasy 7″, then followed that up with How the Light Felt, so rest assured, you’ve read about them before on this here site. But, I haven’t caught them live as of yet, so they’re definitely high upon my list for acts I’d love to see in an intimate setting. Trying to get as much coverage out as we can before SXSW comes our way, as, despite its faults, it still remains a pretty special fest to those here at ATH. An artist we’d like to throw our support behind is Jess Cornelius, who will be coming into town with at least four shows under planned for the festival…dates included after the jump.
After releasing their debut album this past year, Puppy Angst are ready to venture into Austin for SXSW, so we wanted to make sure that you were prepared to get to know the band. Pushing forward and the SXSW emails are coming in fast and furiously. So, hopefully if you’re in the same boat, you’ll take a little time in your day to rest and and read about Dropper, one of the acts making their way to SXSW this year. They’ll likely be filling thheir set with hits from last year’s Don’t Talk to Me, with hopefully some new tunes in the works as well. SXSW is on the horizon for all of us, so we’re pushing forward with our coverage of acts, hoping we can introduce you to a few folks you might want to catch when you’re out and about.
