As previously mentioned, we’re overly excited about getting our Lost in Austin takeaway videos back off the ground and running. Our first subject in the relaunch featured Cave Singers and we shared the first part of that video series last week. Today we’ve got part 2 and we couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out. Wow, it’s been way too long since we’ve managed to shoot one of our world famous Lost in Austin videos with Guerilla Waltz. Almost a year to be exact, since we last ran the incredible video of Suckers at Red 7. Well today is a turning point in the series, as we jump start a new era for our takeaway videos with longtime ATH favorite Cave Singers. Follow the jump for full description and video.
The weather was beautiful in Austin on Saturday night and the setting was perfect for a much anticipated show by Seattle’s own Cave Singers. Though the crowd may have been a bit thin due to so many shows going on around town, it seemed like everyone in attendance agreed that the band killed it. Follow the jump for a few quick thoughts.

Saturday night is a great night for shows in Austin and it seems like you’ve got tons of options with all types of genres represented. Yes even the ATH crew will be split up all over town, but this guy will be heading over to Red 7 for a show by long time favorite of mine Cave Singers. Providing worthy support in an opening bid you’ll get Bleeding Rainbow. Maybe we’ll see each other there?

You guessed it folks, it’s rock n’ roll April in Austin, and we’ve got another good show for your weekend adventures. We’re being invaded by Canadians this time, with Nova Scotia’s Wintersleep making their way to Red 7 on Sunday evening. They’re touring behind the release of their latest effort, Hello Hum, which we’ve supported since the first singles leaked out. They carry with them a blend of melody and powerful rock riffs, which leads me to believe the show will be both loud and mesmerizing. Plus, our boys Grape St. will be opening. So it’s been said already that the festival has wrapped up and we’re all trying to recover as best we can back at work Monday. It was a fun and exhausting week full of incredible music, tons of booze, and many an old friend. We’re each taking a look back at our week in free live music with some recaps and now it’s my turn. Finally, it’s over. After over a 100 bands, 100 beers, a few tacos, we’re back to the daily grind. The beast that is SXSW is officially behind us now, so we’ll be spending a bit of time highlighting our own individual thoughts on the festival. It’s a weird world in Austin building up to SXSW. We get some good shows, but a lot of traveling acts just postpone the inevitable of a week of belligerence and loud tunes.
