Levitation Interview: Civic
As you can see, we are frantically try to hit with you as much Levitation coverage as we can before things kick off on Thursday. We’re rolling into our second interview of the day, this time by way of Melbourne based outfit Civic. Now we’ve long been fans of these guys and are super excited for them to travel all this way. What’s the name of the band/group? Where are you from?
We are CIVIC from Melbourne/Naarm Australia.
Describe your group’s sound to a new fan using only adjectives.
The sound of two hard boiled eggs cooked at precisely 3 min 35 seconds taped together in the timing of Tchaokovsky’s swan lake.
What was your most recent release? Any planned releases for 2023/2024? Where can we get our hands on a new release?
We just re-released our EP and first few singles on an LP. But our most recent LP “TAKEN BY FORCE” came out in March. You can listen online or cop the physicals from our site www.civicivic.com

If you could put on your own one day festival with say 5-10 bands (up to you) who would be on this bill? You may travel through time and use artists who are alive or dead or on hiatus… you get me. Where would this awesome concert be
5 stages, 10 cover bands and they all play Fleetwood Mac songs, but they are all dressed as Jugalos. And it’s at the base of Mt Fuji.
We always like to hear about what bands are listening to in their van/bus on tour. What are you guys spinning? How long does each member get to play DJ

The band gets to create their own taco pop-up shop at Levitation! What’s the name, and what sort of tacos will you have? Any sides?
It’s called ‘Taco By Force’ and it caters to everyone. Sides would come in the form of an IV drip. Menu of solution on request.
