We’re almost there folks, but why not meet another artist coming into town. Below you’ll find answers to our SXSW Interviews from Yoke Lore. He’s about to venture off on a large tour through April/May, but he’s planning on coming to Austin to grab some BBQ and take it all in. We’ve also included a new hit that just dropped yesterday, so you can have a taste of what he’s all about; think Rostam, with a touch more pop grandiosity.
One of the great things about SXSW is that folks come from all over the world. We’ve had interviews from South Korea and Germany, and now we’ve got Australian artist Hoodlem on the line with a quick interview before she crosses the great pond. She’s got a brand new Teenager EP coming later this Spring, and we’ve got the title track streaming down below.
Jacksonville-based project LANNDS may not be a household name just yet, but someone has to be a “break out” artists at SXSW, right? We caught up with the duo before they headed our way; they’ll likely be playing several tunes off their forthcoming EP, and you can sample one of those singles below. They take the stage at Sidewinder on March 15th.
Blonde Maze is the project of New Yorker Amanda Steckler; she’s probably sitting at home right now crafting delighting electronic pop gems. She’s getting tons of traffic as of late, and we’ll hope you’ll take a little time out of your day to learn a touch more about her. She’ll be playing her set at Iron Bear Bar on March 14th at 10 PM. Baum just keeps releasing hit after hit after hit. This year, she’ll be bringing her pop stylings into Austin, ready to take over the town during SXSW. We caught up with her briefly to catch her thoughts on the festival; we’ve also got a few of those aforementioned hits below.
She’ll be playing on 3/14 @ Space 24 Twenty (2 PM), 3/14 @ Palm Door (7:30 PM) and 3/15 @ Sidewinder (8:10).
The best thing about such a large festival like SXSW is the diversity; you can pretty much catch any sort of music you like. Demo Taped brings some soulful pop to Austin next week, and we caught up with him real briefly to catch some insight into his forthcoming performances, as well as his hit “Own It.” If he catches your ear with that, be sure to look into his Momentary EP.
Talos has already had huge success with the release of his latest album,Wild Aleeacross the pond. But, the Irish act are one of the many braving the distance to try win over the hearts of everyone in attendance at SXSW.
